Elder abuse: spotting the signs and advice for carers

Elder abuse is rife and happening right now in homes, hospitals and care homes throughout the UK. It is a horrific crime on some of the most vulnerable in our society and as many of us as possible need to know how to spot the signs and help those affected.

4% of the over-66 population have reported being victims of elder abuse. As abuse is often hidden, this number is likely to be just a fraction of the true extent of the problem.

The article also points out that carers can really suffer whilst trying their best to care for an elderly person. There are tips here to help keep them as healthy and capable as possible in order to avoid neglect.
